Overview & Content
The Foundation in Esoteric Studies was commissioned by Dr. Baker in 2010 to update and modernise the content of the existing Claregate Correspondence Course which has been running for over 30 years. The course features live video and studio recordings of lectures presented by Dr Baker and the Claregate Team. These recordings are supplemented with video tutorials and study guides for each module.
The course has been designed to provide students with a thorough grounding in the underlying principles of Ancient Wisdom. Students are provided with a carefully structured course of study to enable easy and rapid learning. Each module is expected to take one month to complete although students may take longer, should they think this necessary or if prevailing circumstances dictate. The course is presented in a modern audio-visual format available through this website.
There are seven postulates of Ancient Wisdom that are a basic foundation towards the study of the deeper spiritual reality and nature of humanity. These postulates must be lived if the life of the student is to take the path of spiritual unfoldment with any real prospect of success. In the Esoteric Studies Course the seven postulates form the basis of self-knowledge and spiritual awareness.
Who are we? Where do we come from? Why are we here? Where do we go to from here? These eternal questions are addressed in the light of esoteric teachings. You are introduced to the concepts of reincarnation, karma, the Wheel of Rebirth and the spiritual path. The esoteric constitution of man is outlined as a means of promoting awareness of the relationship between you and your Higher Self and of the various mechanisms which are related to this.
A major aspect of the course is the subject of 'Psychosynthesis'. The curriculum contains a five-part series of live lectures by Dr Baker outlining the theory and practice of Psychosynthesis. This spiritual process offers ways in which you may become 'Soul-infused' allowing you function on a holistic level of being.
The theory of meditation is discussed, together with its methods and techniques of creating a link with the Higher Self. You are introduced to the concept of symbols as representations of archetypes. Ways are outlined as to how you may then engage in a dialogue with the Higher Self through the imagery found in dreams and meditation. This is designed to help you to both discover and express the purpose and intent of the Higher Self, which is the very reason for your existence.
